For my birthday weekend I really wanted to visit Prince Edward County to explore more of the region and of course visit some wineries. Usually when travelling we stay in Airbnbs and if we do stay in hotels we never spend much time there. For this trip I wanted to splurge a bit and stay at The Edward Bed & Breakfast to have a relaxing vacation and a cozy place to stay that we would actually want to spend time at. The Edward was absolutely amazing down to every last detail and truly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. 

The Edward is only a 10 minute drive from Picton where you have lots of restaurants and shops. The location was really great since you feel secluded but still close enough to everything. The furthest we travelled to get to anywhere in the County was 40 minutes to one of the wineries but you’re driving on pretty country roads so it’s very relaxing. It’s also convenient coming from Ottawa if you take the ferry from Adolphustown.

The Edward’s property is so nice with wildflowers growing everywhere and a forest of juniper trees with a little walking trail through. At night we enjoyed sitting on the back porch and looking up at the stars. There is very little light pollution in Prince Edward County so the stars are amazing! They also have a fire pit and you can request a s’mores basket to use at night.

The house itself is lovely and beautifully decorated. You can tell every piece of furniture was carefully selected. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable too. In the morning we sat in the beautiful breakfast nook with the sun shinning in, watching the birds and butterflies in the garden, it was just so peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was also delicious! They had set up a little breakfast bar with yogurt, housemade granola, fresh berries, local honey, fresh baked scones and bread. Then we were served a delicious veggie quiche with eggs from the chickens in the garden and the second morning crepes with local maple syrup.

I really can’t speak more highly of The Edward. We mostly interacted with one of the owners, Manolis who greeted us upon arrival and served us breakfast each morning. During breakfast he talked to us about how they decided to open the B&B, starting a beehive, caring for the chickens and future plans for the property. He was very friendly and we really appreciated how thoughtful the entire experience was.

If you’re planning a trip to Prince Edward County then you can’t pick a better place to stay than The Edward. It’s really ruined us since now the only experience we want is one like we had at The Edward. Do yourself a favour and stay here.
