Christmas at Upper Canada Village is one of the best places to see lights during the holiday season. I usually end up going after Christmas to see the Alight at Night festival to extend the Christmas season a bit. I love just walking around seeing all the pretty lights and there are also horse drawn wagon rides.

There are so many wonderful things about the holiday season and I love all my old and new Christmas traditions. Baking cookies, picking out a Christmas tree and decorating it with family (although we tend to go fake these days), seeing the Christmas lights around the city, big family dinners, making and decorating gingerbread houses, listening to Christmas music and watching some of my favourite Christmas movies like Elf, Holiday Inn and A Charlie Brown Christmas.
For as long as I can remember I’ve been making these Christmas sugar cookies with my Grandma, first with my Great-Grandma when she would come from Winnipeg and now with my Grandma. It’s one of my oldest Christmas traditions and one of my favourite cookies to make and eat! For some reason the recipe in my Grandma’s book is titled “Dream Biscuits”, maybe because they’re just that good.
